NieCat Blessings Academy was born from the experiences of Founder Miriam Carlota Arthur-Sullivan. NieCat Blessings Academy is a preschool and therapeutic center “exclusively” for children with special needs and unique abilities. Working for Miami Dade County Public Schools for 31 years and retiring as a school administrator gave Carlota the need to continue to work with children. In July 2019 Carlota began her journey of principalship at a school for special needs children from kindergarten to 22 years old. These experiences catapulted Carlota to begin the journey to open NieCat Blessings Academy. NieCat provides exceptional preschool children a safe-haven with opportunities to explore and realize their gifts/talents. These preschoolers receive prescribed therapy services, yoga, mindfulness, and an educational experience in a nurturing, fun, judgment-free zone. Carlota will use her skills as a Spiritual Life Coach to provide parent workshops, provide support and work with the parents to increase their knowledge on how to best support and advocate for their young children as they also learn how to manage their own self-care.

 

Carlota received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish in 1987 from FISK University. She earned her Master’s in Elementary Education and her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 1993 from Nova Southeastern University. She became a certified Life Coach in 2013 and is presently working on her doctorate in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Northcentral.
